CHILDREN’S HOPE CHARITIES LEARNING CORNER
There’s no better way to describe Children’s Hope Charities start of the New Year. On Jan. 2, 2025, CHC in partnership with PMAMWDC and Community of Hope Special Education Learning Center, Inc. have collaborated to establish Children’s Hope Charities Learning Corner located at the Community of Hope Special Education Center in Lam-an, Ozamis City, Misamis Occidental, Philippines.
Philippine Medical Association of Metro Washington DC ( PMAMWDC) is an organization of Health Care Professionals whose missions have expanded beyond the medical community to the Filipino community at large and beyond.
Community of Hope Special Education Center, Inc. based in Ozamis City, Philippines under the administration of the Missionary Sisters of St. Columban is serving children and young adults with disabilities since 1985. The Center’s Mission is to help these children and their families to cope with their challenges by providing services to develop their capacities to become person with dignity and equal rights in the society. They inspire them to be joyful, healthy and confident.
In this collaboration Community of Hope Special Education Center, Inc. provided a newly built classroom which CHC and PMAMWDC funded to paint and install window grills and outfitted it with Smart TV, Computer, Blue Tooth Speaker, Teacher’s desk/chair, study tables/chair for the children, toy shelves, book shelves, folding dining tables, rubber mats, and chairs for the Multipurpose Hall.
Thus, on January 29, 2025, the culmination of this collaboration is the opening of Children’s Hope Charities Learning Corner attended by the Representatives of the Benefactors and the children with their families. It was a joyous and a memorable event!
As CHC’s humanitarian effort continues we will find ways to consider various options for long term sustainability and greater program impact.
